Hindi Varnamala: मनुष्य के द्वारा बोली गयी meaning full ध्वनियों को भाषा कहा गया है. भाषा मनुष्य के बौधिक और अभिव्यक्ति की क्षमता को बिकसित करता है. भाषा विज्ञान के अनुसार मनुष्य के द्वारा प्रकट की गयी ध्वनियों को शब्द चिन्ह के द्वारा अभिव्यक्त किया जाता है जिन्हें वर्ण कहा जाता है.
(Meaning full sounds spoken by humans have been called language. Language sells human intelligence and the ability to express. According to linguistics, the sounds revealed by humans communicated through word signs, which are called varnas.)

लोगों द्वारा बोली जानी वाली भाषा की बिलकुल छोटी इकाई को ध्वनि कहा जाता है. और किताब की भाषा में ध्वनि को ही वर्ण कहा जाता है. इसी प्रकार वर्णों को सजा कर व्यवस्थित करने के समूह को वर्णमाला कहते हैं.
(A tiny unit of the language spoken by people is called sound. And in the style of the book, the sound is called varna. Similarly, the group of arranging and arranging the letters is called the alphabet.)
हिन्दी भाषा में उच्चारण के अनुसार 45 वर्ण हैं. इनमें से 10 स्वर और 35 व्यंजन हैं. लेखन के आधार पर 52 वर्ण होते हैं इसमें 13 स्वर, 35 व्यंजन तथा 4 संयुक्त व्यंजन होते हैं.

हिन्दी वर्णमाला के प्रकार – Types of hindi alphabet
हिन्दी वर्णमाला के दो प्रकार होते हैं (There are two types of Hindi alphabet) –
1. स्वर Vowel
2. व्यंजन Consonant
स्वर क्या होता है? What is a vowel (a aa ee)
जिन वर्णों को स्वतंत्र रूप से बोला जा सके उसे स्वर कहते हैं. परम्परागत रूप से स्वरों की संख्या 13 मानी गई है लेकिन उच्चारण की दृष्टि से 10 ही स्वर होते हैं.
(The letters that can speak freely are called vowels. Traditionally, the number of vowels is assumed to be 13, but in terms of pronunciation there are only 10 vowels.)

व्यंजन क्या होता है? What is a Consonant (ka kha ga gha)
जो वर्ण स्वर वर्ण को मिला कर बने हैं उसे व्यंजन वर्ण कहा जाता है. सभी व्यंजन वर्ण में अ स्वर वर्ण जुड़ा हुआ है, अ के बिना व्यंजन वर्ण का उच्चारण नहीं किया जा सकता है. वर्णमाला में कुल 35 व्यंजन वर्ण होते हैं.
(Characters that are made by mixing vowels are called consonants. ‘अ’ vowel is attached to all consonant letters, without ‘अ’ the consonant letter cannot pronounce. The alphabet consists of 35 consonant characters.)
